MOCK EXPLORATION FEEDBACK POST
This is a HMD post for Ultra Penumbra's mock exploration! We're... not going to pretend that it wasn't a little rocky due to quite a few RL issues and probable bad timing, but we're wondering if there's anything we can do to make things go a little more smoothly for the main game.
There are a few things we intended to include in the exploration that simply didn't get tested because we didn't have time to get to them in the form of boss fights, which would have been the equivalent of a murdergame trial. The object would've been to talk the boss down from whatever issue was keeping them in the dungeon, but at the end of the day everything ran extremely late and we just didn't have time for it. We do have a few ideas we'd like to ask specifically about, since from our end they seemed like they might have caused a problem or two. So we'll ask about the following:
Exploration schedule. I'm Ran here and my personal experience is that when I tried a Saturday/Sunday schedule in a different game as opposed to the usual Friday/Saturday, people didn't exactly like it. However, it did seem like people were fairly busy on Friday, and I will admit, there was a bit of a SNAFU on my end that prevented me from getting everything up on noon in a coherent manner.
Team building. I encouraged five-person teams ICly because I figured it would be best to divide things evenly among the rooms and because of the flavor aspect, but I'm thinking it might be better to encourage people to pile into rooms and just put a cap on how many of them can get involved per room like how murdergame investigations do it.
An alternate option could be that the mods RNG which characters will handle which rooms, so teams will be different every time. It'd sort of spiritually fit with the procedural generation of the PMD games proper and enable new CR opportunities, so it might be worth considering?
Obviously, anything else you'd like to bring to our attention is something that should be brought to our attention, so let us know about anything we can do to improve for the main game. And thank you all for participating in our little experiment! I know some stuff didn't go right and timing was bad, but I appreciate everyone who decided to play around in Pokemon Land. I hope you guys had fun even with the bumps.
