Welcome! This is the portal that leads to the world inhabited only by Pokémon. Beyond this gateway, many new adventures and fresh experiences await your arrival!

Hey, all! This is an interest check for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Ultra Penumbra, a short-run game based on the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games that will be run by Ran and Lu!
Like most of the games, it will be set in its own continuity, so you don't have to have played the games to join this one (though they're pretty good if you like roguelikes). Basically, the main thing you need to know is that (a) your character has been transformed into a Pokemon and (b) you explore weird pocket dimensions known as Mystery Dungeons!
This will be a six month game with dungeon expeditions happening every weekend. We're also considering having some slower-paced things for characters to do to help out in the hub town. It will have a cast cap of 20, and individual casts will have a cap of two per canon. The game will be open to both canon characters and non-native OCs.
We're considering have most of the game take place in a hub town that starts small, but gains more locations as the game progresses. Mystery Dungeons will be set up a bit differently from the games to better work in an RP setting, and we're thinking of making them puzzle dungeons or something a bit more closely resembling Persona dungeons where you'll have to investigate the weird alternate Mystery Dungeon dimension and figure out how to solve an NPC's problem. Completing the Mystery Dungeons each week will open up new locations within the hub town for the cast to enjoy.
We're also considering how to handle the choice of what Pokemon your character is transformed into. We're thinking of doing assignments ala games like Azume and Ryslig to prevent too much overlap with NPCs and other characters' species along with helping players who have difficulty choosing between 800+ options, but because this affects what your character turns into for an entire game, we're thinking of providing a few options around how to handle that.
One option we were thinking about was providing about four options to choose from after some character analysis, while another option we were thinking of was providing one option and, if the player doesn't like it, allowing them to just pick whatever out of beginning stage Pokemon that aren't legendaries, mythicals, or Ultra Beasts. We're definitely open to suggestions in general, though!
This game is in very early development, and and the game proper will begin sometime in 2019. We are thinking of having a practice expedition before then to hammer out how we'd like to run the Mystery Dungeons and to get feedback from players, which should happen early in 2019. We will keep you updated on our progress on that via FAQs and TDMs.
INTEREST FORM:
Player Name: Your name or internet alias!
Timezone: Your timezone!
Preferred Start Time (Practice Expedition): What month is best for a week-long test run of the mystery dungeon system?
Preferred Start Time (Full Game): We're expecting answers to this to be a little more general, since people will probably have a better idea after the practice expedition.
Character Considerations: Who ya thinkin' about bringing?
Likelihood: How likely do you think you are to app or at least try out the practice expedition?
Questions or suggestions: Ask us preliminary questions or give us some suggestions! Especially on the topic of Pokemon assignments, since we're not quite sure about that.
Would you be interested in NPCing or helping out? We expect to have a pretty beefy cast of NPCs due to the game's nature, so we may consider asking for a little help. If you feel like playing some kind of Pokemon OC, let us know!
Anything else? idk meme on us i guess
